Fashion Timeline..chapter 1

Fashion is an never ending cycle of change for both men and women,fashion is tied to identify.You are what you wear.They are many different ways to dress and style yourself that could be inspired by media,print or anything from the past.Fashion has always been an ever changing industry and that’s what make fashion extremely interesting.

Every decades leaves its mark on fashion past.The 20’s and 30’s put flapper dresses with hats,cloche,scarves and stockings on the fashion book.

The 40’s gave women menswear. the manufactures made pants for women,although they still looked very masculine with high waist and button down the side had full legs with wide cuffs.The 50’s brought midis,circle skirts,blouses,capri pants,long narrow skirts,became extremely popular style and was the hallmark of 1950’s fashion.

FASHION FORECASTING

Fashion forecasting is a global career that focuses on the upcoming trends.A fashion forecaster predicts the design of the clothes with attributes such as color,fabrics,textures,materials,prints,graphics,beauty(grooming),accessories,footwear,street style and other styles that will be presented on the runway and in the stores for the upcoming seasons.The fashion forecasting process includes the basic steps of understanding the vision of the business and the profile of target customers.Color and style are the two important objects to forecast for the buyers and merchandisers.Fashion forecasting is responsible for attracting consumers and help the retail businesses and designers sell their brands.

Fashion to me is being comfortable in your own skin. It lets me be bold, expressive and confident when I wear a good and comfortable outfit. It indeed is an expression of you and how you want to present yourself in the world. Clothes mean nothing until someone lives in them. Even if you are wearing a great outfit and it doesn’t feel good, be sure to accessorize it with a beautiful smile and great confidence. It’s all in the way you carry yourself. Elegance is the only beauty that never fades. Don’t ever be ashamed of who you are. Fat or thin, dark or fair..what matters is only what you think of yourself. It is not about the size you wear but the way you wear your size.

It is termed as the prevailing style of dress or behavior.
